At the foot of the evergreen Groenberg, Wellington, lays the intimate Wedding & Function venue Langkloof Roses, surrounded by Oaktrees and a Valley of roses. This venue is surely a hidden gem! A while ago we received a request from a bride to feature her wedding on our Blog. With a stunning Bride and venue like this, how could Little Pink Book say no?! Elet and Heindrigh tied the knot on 22 December 2012 at his beautiful venue.
What made you choose Langkloof Roses as your wedding venue? Well, at first I wanted to get married at a winery in Durbanville – which my father did not like. So we where back to square one with finding a venue. A colleague of mine actually recommended me to go have a look at Langkloof Roses and we fell in love with the venue! What a whimsical place!
You had a beautiful dress!! Tell us more about it… the designer, the fit, your favourite parts etc. I tried on a couple of different styles to see what would suit my body type the best, and in my mind I actually wanted an off-shoulder dress. Boob tube dresses are so overrated, so definitely wanted something very different. And then I tried on this style of dress and knew exactly this is what I wanted. So I met with Ilse Roux and I made a couple of adjustments to the dress, just to give it a personal touch! My favourite feature of my dress must be the shoulders and the back – so romantic and sexy!
Where did you get most of your ideas and inspiration? In bridal magazines and on blogs. I’ve been planning my wedding since birth – so it actually all came naturally to me! Oh yes and GOOGLE!!! My new best friend!
What were the highlights of your wedding? Definitely walking down the aisle, and seeing my future husband shedding a tear, waiting for my hand!
What was the “theme or feel” of your wedding, and why? Vintage/Rustic – Heindrigh and myself love old things and wanted touches of it. We also like a relaxed atmosphere, so wanted to incorporate the rustic feel. We wanted people to be relaxed at our wedding, did not want a stiff, five course meal-tipe of wedding!! Our menu also contributed to this theme!
Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently? I would have done my time management a little better… I realised after the wedding I never danced with my father!!
What every Bride should know: If you get married in the summer – powder your whole body so the dress does not stick against your body! Choose the right shoes – this could ruin your whole day! Relax – no one else will notice if something goes wrong – so stop stressing! Only you know about it! Your guest will never notice any of it! So stop fretting!
