Little Pink Book’s third Gauteng Wedding Workshop was held at Shepstone Gardens on Thursday, 15 November 2012. This was also the last Workshop for 2012! What a great year it was! Shepstone Gardens has the most beautiful gardens and really is a feast for your eyes. This evergreen garden with its forest-like feel and enchanting atmosphere, is stretched over four properties. They offer an in-house coordination service and also have a selected number of Caterers you can choose from.
Upon arrival, each bride received a beautiful glass heart form Silver Ribbon Registry. This free online registry service is every brides dream! Rose, from Molteno Creations, made the most exquisite fascinators and each bride could choose her favourite out of a selection. Molteno Creations is known for their vintage bespoke pieces, which are original and uniquely made for you! When Rose makes your dress, you can be sure that you will not find it anywhere else! After your wedding, depending on the type of fabric used, your dress can be dyed to a different colour for you to wear again to another function or event. Now that’s a clever idea!
The beautiful name badges and stationery were intricately designed and created by Bianca from Pistachio Designs. Pistachio Designs specialises in design and focuses on every fine detail. From the save-the-date, straight through to the thank you cards, they will make sure your first and last impression, lasts! Bianca incorporates your wedding theme, colour scheme, style, etc. into your stationery so that it ties together every aspect of your wedding.
Each guest received a refreshing drink to enjoy while waiters served the most scrumptious canapés from JEM Catering. Johan is an extremely talented chef! He and his partner, Esther, started the business and they love classic french style cooking. JEM Catering pride themselves on great food and value for money. They will work with you to create the perfect menu that suits you and your partner’s personalities, as well as your budget. They offer dessert buffet tables, which are very popular nowadays, and they incorporate your wedding theme when designing an planning the dessert table with you. Whatever you fancy, they will make it! As always, each Bride received a Goody Bag filled with gifts and prizes, and of course, a Little Pink Book.
Guests were able to mingle and chat with the service providers before the evening commenced. Tilted Up created the perfect atmosphere with their wonderful background music of Eva Cassidy, Michael Bublé, Norah Jones and the likes. Jattie is a professional singer-songwriter and can even compose your own song for your wedding day! Tilted Up is really versatile when it comes to the music you would like them to play on your wedding day. If you know it, they’ll sing it! They will even sing in a different language if you’d like! Tilted Up: Professional, reliable, flexible and versatile! (And amazing!)
After having a glass of wine from PaardenKloof Wines, guests made their way into the beautiful venue. PaardenKloof Estate is situated on the northern slopes of the Babilonstoring Mountain Range and delivers a delicious Sauvignon Blanc. You will not find PaardenKloof Wines in any restaurant or store and they don’t export the wine, as only 12 000 bottles are produced and therefore keeping the wine exclusive. For your wedding, they will store the wine at the right temperature and deliver it to your venue. A great service to have!
Otto de Jager and his team did an incredible job by putting this workshop together. The theme for the workshop was Snow White and each table’s décor and flowers expressed the theme in a different way. Otto’s been in business for eighteen years and has accumulated tremendous knowledge of the industry during this time. Chris Winspear Design Jewellers specialise in the design and manufacture of custom made jewellery, including engagement- and wedding rings, bridesmaids charms and cufflinks. Their process consists of four steps: firstly, they sketch the design for you. Secondly, they supply a computer generated design for you. This way you will be able to see your design in 3-D and changes can be made to the design. Third, they make a wax replica of the ring for you to wear and actually see the ring on your finger and the fourth step is the finished ring. Why choose them? Paul from Cake Extreme gave each guest a bag with a beautiful red velvet cupcake in it. Paul will soon open his own showroom which will be the biggest in South Africa! They bake gluten-, sugar- and wheat-free cakes and will soon be able to offer Ice Cream cakes! No request is too big or too extreme. If you can dream it, they will make it!
The man behind the lens and who is responsible for the amazing photos is Ryan Parker. Ryan believes that you must book your photographer well in advance, straight after you’ve booked your Venue. Make an effort with the Groom’s attire as this part of the wedding is usually looked over. A well styled groom will make your photos look even better! Posing is important. You may not feel comfortable at first, but you will definitely reep the benefits when you receive your photos!
Gerhard and his team from Kanonkopkavalier spesialise in wedding videography and they love attention to detail and creative filmmaking. There are four different packages that range from R5 500 to R 14 000. All four packages come standard with two camera operators, a 20 minute highlights clip, custom printed discs and more. Also available are HD Blu-Ray discs. Kanonkopkavalier can also create a save-the-date video clip for your wedding!
Pro Lighting is a production company that specialises in audio visual equipment. Their friendly, professional staff are always helpful and willing to go the extra mile to make your event stand out from the rest. Leon and his team made sure all the presentations ran smoothly. He suggests that you make an appointment to discuss the type of music you would like to have on your wedding day. With Pro Lighting there is no limit to what they can do for you when it comes to lighting.
Last, but not least, we had our lucky draw!
