Even though the classical Wedding March by Richard Wagner has been the number one choice for the brides entry to their ceremony since 1848, it won’t hurt to change things up a bit. Some couples might not even be aware of the fact that there are a wide variety of songs to choose from, be it classical pieces or alternative songs.

Whatever you choose as your wedding march, make sure that it’s personal and that the melody will create the perfect mood for your special day. If you cannot find a song that fits the mold but you have a lovely voice yourself, why not write a song and record it beforehand. This can be a surprise gift to your husband-to-be, who might think you settled on the traditional march.
There are also a lot of string quartet versions of modern songs – I used Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol and it was lovely. So it linked the modern and a song that I love, with a more traditional wedding feel
