WAS THIS THE BIGGEST WEDDING THE ALEIT GROUP HAS EVER DONE?

Heart
The days leading up to the wedding was stressful… with only four days to set-up a clear span marquee, flooring, draping, sound, lighting, dance floors, stages, tables, chairs, flowers and décor, the tensions were high and everyone had to be exactly on time to ensure that everything gets done.

The wedding day was an event like no other.  All décor and lighting were hand-picked with some items being specially made for Candice and Larry’s wedding.  A round dance floor had to be created and rounded, as this didn’t exist in the industry.  Screens had to be specially made to cover all the exits and entrances to the marquee.  On the inside of the screens, a very talented artist only had a weekend to paint four burlesque girls of 2m x 2m each.

The flower arrangements were completely OTT.  Massive arrangements in bright colours by OKASIE were placed in segments in the marquee.  Groupings of four to six round tables were placed together, to create this explosion of colour around the venue.  Sections of fuchsia pink, green and yellow were the final colours that was decided on.

With the use of intelligent lighting, the mood in the marquee changed throughout the evening.  With every new event, the lights would change, whether it was with the starters being served, or to announce the beginning of the speeches, the room was constantly changing.

The wedding was beautiful; from the Chuppah at the old Manor House at Webersburg Wine Estate, through the pre-dinner drinks, with Merle Ruben’s amazing fresh canapés and buffets, to the entrance into the 500m2 marquee structure, that has been set-up on the grass area overlooking the dam.

With a variety of entertainment, including Jewish dancing, Nomfusi and Cape Town DJs, everyone was on  the dance floor at some stage of the evening.  The party ended at 3am and everyone had a fantastic evening!

Candice and Larry’s spectacular wedding day will remain in our memories forever!
