Heart

If you buy a Little Pink Book at a wedding show, you stand a big chance to win some amazing prizes. Today, we announce the winners of: The Wedding Pavillion at the Womens Show in Cape Town.

1st Prize (3 Nights @ Clouds Estate) – Schalk & Elizabeth

Schalk este Wedding Pavillion Competition Winners photoSchalk (my fiancé) and I met in Namibia in late 2006 while he was an EMS locum in Windhoek. We both live in the Mother City, deciding to move here after our first summer holiday together in Cape Town.  Our engagement took place amongst our closest friends and family and was truly a complete surprise and amazing occasion. To be able to share our lives together is the greatest blessing, and I look forward to a bright (and never boring) future with this wonderful man.

2nd Prize (Miglio Bracelett & Earrings) – Kelvin & Greshna

Kelvin Greshna Wedding Pavillion Competition Winners photoKelvin Hendricks and Greshna Le Hane got engaged on 11 December 2009. We have been together for the past four years. We enjoy socializing, eating out, movies, and weekends away. Recently we have become keen gardeners in our new home in the southern suburbs. Kelvin loves cooking and arranges fun actvities for us to do with his 8 year old daughter Devon.

Kelvin proposed on the eve of my mom’s departure back to London. She and her husband spent a full three weeks with us, which included a weekend to Paternoster for the crayfish festival and wine tasting in the Boland.   After a delightful dinner at our favourite seafood restaurant, he  thanked everyone for the holidays. He then added that everyone always  asks about what is happening with Kelvin and Greshna?

At the time we  were together 4 days short of our 4years relationship. He said he always asks me if I will spend the rest of my life with him, and I joke with a funny response and not take him seriously. So, now in front of family and close friends he tell me that he wants to spend the rest of his life with me, and will I spend the rest of my life with him and marry him. He then popped out a stunning diamond ring. See picture. I was so shocked and surprised, I put the ring on and forgot to reply…keeping him waiting for an answer…ha..ha. We are now planning a our wedding with close friends and family at the Vineyard Hotel & Spa, Newlands for 30 October 2010.

3rd Prize (Miglio Bracelett) – Jacques & Mariza

Jacques Mariza Wedding Pavillion Competition Winners photoI met Mariza in St.5 (Grade 7) after she was put in the seat next to me in the art class.  We hardly spoke and at that time playing outside with friends was much more important than “dating”.  So in St.7 we became very good and close friends and the friendship just grew stronger from there on.

After school I studied at Stellenbosch and at that stage she had completed her studies and was working in Cape Town.  We saw each other a couple of times per week and we got to a point where we both realized there are more feelings than just plain friendship.  So it was then that I asked her to be my girlfriend and we started dating in 2005.  After 4.5 years of dating we are now looking forward to our BIG DAY which will take place on 26 Feb 2011

As part of the proposal plan I purchased The Little Pink Book to give to her after she accepts my hand in marriage.  Its true what they say: “Diamonds are a girls best friend”, but together with the diamond on her finger, her next best friend – The Little Pink Book is in her other hand and we constantly refer back to the book as a relevant source of information.
