How did you meet?
Through mutual friends.
How did he propose?
We went for a weekend away to a country spa hotel in West Sussex. After dinner, we took a walk in the garden where he proposed (pretty much in darkness as there were no lights outside, and the only light was coming from the lounge window!).
The wedding day? Tell us what you felt and experienced.
The nerves from the night before disappeared, probably due to having my two bridesmaids with me and we had a lovely afternoon having our make-up and hair done in the manor house, while the guys relaxed in the sunshine. It was a lovely relaxed wedding in a stunning venue. The day went by so quickly though.
The honeymoon…where?
After a week back “home” in South Africa to visit friends and family, we went on honeymoon to Mauritius.
Any advice to future Brides and Grooms?
Keep it relaxed, as you will have more fun that way. Invite the people who you really want at your wedding to make it extra special. Choose the best photographer that you can afford. If you are having a group photo with the entire party, have that photo right at the start of the photo session, as we didn’t get everyone in our group photo which was a shame. If you can, keep the party small, so that you have a chance to speak to everyone.
Something nice about us…
Aleit recommended Vrede en Lust and we trusted him, even though we would only see the venue a few days before the wedding, as we arrived from London to Cape Town a week before the wedding! It was the perfect choice for us. Hayley was just fantastic and was always on the ball – we feel so lucky to have had her help us with our wedding. The Aleit team recommended a few photographers to us and we were extremely happy with our choice once again.
