Michelle & Alex – Clouds

How did you meet?

We met through mutual friends in London. Unbeknown’s to me Alex was the guy in my housemate’s bedroom singing Roxanne by Sting repeatedly until 4am! He did come around the next day to apologize after he realized I had moved in. It took him two weeks to ask me out!

How did he propose?

We were walking along the Thames River passing Tower Bridge and taking in the sites when he popped the question, it was very romantic!

The wedding day? Tell us what you felt and experienced.

The day was absolutely perfect! The night before they had forecast rain but the weather turned out stunning. I was most looking forward to seeing the floral arrangments and table settings as Faye, Anneke from Leipzig and I spent alot of time getting it just right! Even though the wind came up and spoilt our plans of an openair dinner, the professionalism and ease in which the dinner area was rearranged impressed both Alex and I and our guests! Alex loved the Chef Aleit had recommended, he’s Greek cuisine was second to none, Alex and our guests from Athens said it was the best Greek food they’d ever had!

The honeymoon…where?

Somewhere in the Caribbean undecided as yet but due to happen sometime in 2010!

Any advice to future Brides and Grooms?

Take in everything about your day, you spend months planning all these finer details and then the day goes by so quickly you end up missing half of them. Most importantly spend one on one time with your husband to take it all in at some point during the reception. Listen to Aleit, they know what they talking about, we were dead set on not having a ‘vineyard’ wedding, but the location they recommend was breathtaking and perfect for our needs!

Something nice about us…

Over the year and a half we spent planning our wedding the Aleit team had become as much a part of our lives as our family. We spoke with Faye almost daily and after the wedding had finished, it was indeed an adjustment, if not like losing a friend. There were indeed high expectations of our day, half of our guests were from abroad, and a few were in the events planning business. However, nothing had prepared them for the luxury and excellent service provided to us by Aleit, his team and their service providers on that day. Some of them are calling it the best wedding they’ve ever been to!! I don’t think Alex and I would have enjoyed the day as much if we had decided to plan this ourselves, every stressful opportunity was taken away knowing that we were in safe hands.
