Absa Wealth Chef’s Plate Event

The Absa Wealth Chef’s Plate Event took place on Thursday, 22 October 2009 at Cotage Fromage, Vrede & Lust. Absa Wealth participated in a charity auction and was granted the prize of Duncan Doherty, together with five other chefs, cooking for their guests.
20 clients together with their partners attended the event, which was set apart by an exceptional array of delectable food. Guests enjoyed pre-drinks and canapés on the patio area while being entertained by a jazz duo. Afterwards they dined at one long table and enjoyed a bowl food menu, in which each chef prepared one course. These gorgeous photos by Joe capture what an enjoyable occasion it was!
The following chefs were cooking on the evening:
Duncan Doherty from Cotage Fromage
Neil Jewell from Bread & Wine
Margot Janse from Le Quartier Francais
Reuben Riffel from Reuben’s
Jacques de Jager from Grande Provence
Tamarin van Zyl from La Petite Ferme

We were recently very proud to be requested by Aleit to take part in the Live at Your Table event in Stellenbosch. Aleit had to present a workshop on party trends and decided to go for a paper theme.
As guests received on arrival a vintage handmade paper flower – which the guests loved. One of the tables was wrapped in textile pattern paper topped with doily place settings and mini milk cartons with the menu, guest name and vintage artwork printed onto it.
We always enjoy working for such a creative event and look forward to the next one!

How did you meet?
We met through mutual friends in London. Unbeknown’s to me Alex was the guy in my housemate’s bedroom singing Roxanne by Sting repeatedly until 4am! He did come around the next day to apologize after he realized I had moved in. It took him two weeks to ask me out!
How did he propose?
We were walking along the Thames River passing Tower Bridge and taking in the sites when he popped the question, it was very romantic!
The wedding day? Tell us what you felt and experienced.
The day was absolutely perfect! The night before they had forecast rain but the weather turned out stunning....
